Girls Mentoring Clubs. We hope you enjoyed yourself and will consider bringing others to be a part of one of the areas leading non-profit volunteer organizations. We have been impacting lives here in the Washington Metropolitan Area and Beyond since 1995!
I look forward to working with all of you this 2009-2010 school year. Parents, thank you for trusting Divine Images with your Royal Jewels. I can assure you they will always be safe and in good hands while having a lot fun learning and making an impact in society.
The next meeting is scheduled for Saturday, November 21, 2009. This is a private meeting and only those young ladies currently registered will able to attend.
Girls 2008-2009
Divine Images Network, Inc is a non-profit organization established in 1995 to mentor women & young girls ages 7-23 because we feel that today's youth needs the older generation to pour wisdom back into their lives. Our volunteer staff is a group of women who are dedicated to working closely with youth to identify their needs and provide programs to address those needs. We provide an academic support program, a life skills development program, hands-on education networking program centered on community participation, as well as one-to-one and group mentoring program.
These are the Mentor Program Goals:
Increase girls' sense of self worth.
Improve girls' perspective toward education.
Help girls develop and define their short-term and long-term goals.
Provide them with positive support and encouragement.
Help them become self-sufficient, motivated adults.
Program Descriptions:
The Butterfly Club (ages 7-11) this program work is in partnership with our local urban elementary schools. The girls are carefully selected and Divine Images works with once a month on self development, social etiquette, character and image building skills. This group does not exceed 10-12 participants per sessions. The girls who successfully complete the in school Butterfly Club are assigned mentors and monitored through middle school as long as they remain in the local area until they are eligible for Royal Girls Club at age 12.
The Royal Girls Club (ages 12-16) focuses on empowering girls across all economic levels. Divine Images Network provides enrichment classes, scholarships, workshops, and missionary assignments to allow the girls to blossom, while assisting those who are less fortunate. Middle School and High School Students from various backgrounds work together to learn that everyone has gifts to share with others. This gap bridging measure forms natural bonds between girls from different backgrounds, allowing the youth to understand and appreciate diversity.
The Seed Leadership Program (ages 17-23) Some Restrictions Apply
The Seed Leadership Program is designed to address the needs of our girls in their evolution into competent and active members of their communities in the following ways:
Develop positive attitudes and relationships with peers and caring adults to help them develop socially and succeed academically.
Develop skills and attitudes needed to become leaders among their peers and in their communities.
Keep teens connected, engaged, and nurtured during the pivotal ages of 17-23, to keep them on track, in school, and developing to their best potential.
Tap into the positive experiences of teens who have attended the SEED Program for several years and are eager to stay engaged with Divine Images Network, Inc. as they grow and give back to the younger girls in our programs. Many of our Seed participants become interns with the organization or partner organizations.
In the program, qualified girls, ages 17 and up, participate in a series of cultural, educational, and leadership activities throughout the year. Teen Leaders commit to a three-year, year-round program, which includes serving as peer leaders each summer for the summer Image Boot Camp. They receive training in leadership, conflict resolution, and behavior modeling during the school year, in preparation for serving as peer leaders in the SEED Program, college and life.
